School where pupils ‘achieve consistently highly’ rated Outstanding by Ofsted

A primary school in Bromley where pupils “achieve consistently highly” has been rated Outstanding by Ofsted.

Pupils, parents and staff at St Mark’s Church of England Primary School, in Aylesbury Road, are celebrating their glowing rating from the school watchdog.

The Outstanding report and judgement came after the school received its first full inspection since 2019, when it was rated Good.

The school, which is a part of the Aquinas Church of England Education Trust, was commended by the Ofsted inspector for fostering a “supportive environment” where pupils demonstrate “mutual respect and a strong sense of teamwork”.

Other aspects praised by inspectors included an “ambitious” curriculum, “exemplary” behaviour, a “meticulous” effort to work with parents to resolve attendance issues, and “exceptional” support for SEND students.

Chris Hollands, Headteacher at St Mark’s Church of England Primary School, said: “I am incredibly proud of our entire school community for this fantastic Ofsted result and report, which highlights many of the brilliant aspects of life at St Mark’s CE Primary School.

“I want to express my sincerest thanks to every single member of staff, who work tirelessly every day to ensure we deliver the very best education possible, to our parents and pupils who make our community a joy to be a part of, and to Aquinas CE Education Trust, for their continued support.”
