Bizarre talent show hosts one-off special to raise money for children’s hospice

The farcical Greenwich ‘talent’ contest that encourages performances from the bizarre to the talentless, is returning for a special ‘one off’ show.

Taking place at the legendary Morden Arms pub in Greenwich, on August 31, the London’s Got No Talent contest will be raising money for Demelza Children’s Hospice.

Hosted by satirist Mark Biddiss, aka Simon Foul, the wacky talent contest also stars madcap comedy legend ‘Charlie Chuck’ –  who plays Uncle Pete in Reeves & Mortimer – as a virtual Judge.

Joining him in physical form will be ‘Acts’ including comedian Martin Soan from Blackadder, notorious singing pensioner and TV reality star ‘Jane Buckle’ of Gangsta rapping Granny, as well as some Greenwich local legends ‘The Swell Girls’.

Mr Biddiss said: “I must say, if it wasn’t for the staff at the Morden Arms, this 2024 one-off special of ‘London’s got NO Talent’ would never have happened. 

“If it, predictably, goes wrong on the night, then the blame must surely lay on their collective shoulders. I’m Really looking forward to it.”

Since launching in 2010, the satirical talent contest soon reached semi-cult status in Greenwich, with the 2010 ‘No Talent’ Final being played out to hundreds of spectators at the Greenwich Comedy Festival. 

The show ran for two years until 2012 but briefly returned for a one-night special in 2016.  

Demelza Children’s Hospice provides clinical care and emotional support to children with life-limiting conditions  to more than 2,500 children and family members each year.
