Millwall striker Kevin Nisbet in loan switch to Aberdeen – with Lions inserting recall option in the transfer

Millwall striker Kevin Nisbet has joined Aberdeen on loan.

The Lions have an option to recall the Scottish international in the January transfer window.

Nisbet had played just six minutes for the South Londoners since the start of the season – not featuring at all in the EFL Cup tie at Portsmouth when head coach Neil Harris made a number of changes – and then did not travel for last weekend’s Championship loss at Bristol City.

Harris told the South London Press earlier this week that the frontman, signed from Hibernian last summer, was absent due to illness.

The 27-year-old has largely failed to deliver since moving to the South London club.

Nisbet has scored five goals in 30 matches for Millwall.

He made 17 league starts in his first campaign with the Lions but featured just once – for 22 minutes – after the end of January due to a hamstring injury.

Nisbet still has two years to run on his contract with Millwall.

The Lions pulled out of a deal to sign him in the January transfer window after he underwent medical tests but then did push through a transfer that June.

Aberdeen sold Bojan Miovski to Girona for a club-record £6.8m fee.
