Crystal Palace consider Bournemouth keeper with Wolves closing on Johnstone

Bournemouth keeper Mark Travers is one of the names under consideration by Crystal Palace as Wolves progress on a deal to sign Sam Johnstone.

The Eagles look set to be in the market for the keeper in the final days of the window as Wolves close in on a deal to sign Johnstone, who Oliver Glasner revealed this week has asked to leave.

Dean Henderson is Glasner’s first-choice keeper, and Johnstone will have to depart Selhurst Park in order to regain his England status.

Travers is set to be surplus to requirement at The Vitality Stadium, with Bournemouth closing on a deal to sign Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea on loan.

The 25-year-old has represented his country four times at the senior level and is known to Palace goalkeeper coach Dean Kiely, who is also the keeper coach for Ireland.

Remi Matthews will stay as Palace’s number three, with Joe Whitworth and Owen Goodman out on loan in the EFL.
