Person dies after being hit by train days before Christmas

A person has died after being hit by a train just days before Christmas.

The incident took place at Beckenham Junction railway station, in Station Approach, Beckenham on Saturday morning.

London Ambulance Service (LAS) crews were called to the scene at 10.25am.

The service sent an incident response officer and a medic in a fast-response car.

The power was turned off while the emergency services were at the scene.

Despite their efforts, the person was pronounced dead at the scene, the LAS said.
