Glyn Hodges has agreed a deal to stay on as Wally Downes’ assistant at AFC Wimbledon.

Downes replaced Neal Ardley in the Dons hotseat in December and kept the club in League One.

And the Wimbledon legend brought in Hodges as his number two.

Downes said: “We have retained Glyn Hodges. His contract hadn’t been sorted out, but now it has. That is a bonus.

“I know Glyn so well that we save a lot of time – sometimes I only have to look at him, he’ll nod his head and will know exactly what needs to be done.

“If I’m busy I can get Glyn to do it and we don’t need to have a 30-minute meeting about what I want doing because we are on the same wavelength.

“The way he works is Premier League standard, that’s what he brings.”
