“Transfer deals can risk unsettling a unified group” – Gary Rowett on Millwall’s window activity
BY RICHARD CAWLEY
Gary Rowett is determined that Millwall’s transfer window dealings do not affect the dressing room dynamic.
The Lions have made one signing in this window with Ryan Woods (below) arriving from Stoke City until the end of the season.
Millwall are also keen to bring in an attacker on loan.
“You’ve seen it a lot in January – you feel you have to do something because there are expectations around to do something,” said Rowett. “That can cause you a problem in terms of unsettling a group.
“We’ll try to make real sensible decisions. You have got one or two loans from Premier League clubs that I think a lot of teams are waiting on and are after.
“We’ve got one or two ideas, one or two targets. But I’m not actually desperate to do that. I don’t think it limits our chances of success if we sign someone or not sign someone.”
