Two men and dog stabbed at wake in Peckham

Two men and a dog were stabbed in Peckham last night after a fight reportedly broke out at a wake.

The incident took place in Commercial Way, near the Damilola Taylor Centre, at around 11pm, and two men, believed to be in their 20s to 30s, were found with stab wounds as well as an injured dog, believed to be a Bullmastiff.

One man was taken to hospital and the dog was taken to an animal hospital.

A Met statement said: “Police were called to Commercial Way shortly after 11pm on Tuesday, February 25 to reports of a group of males fighting.

“Officers attended along with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service.

“Two men, believed to be in their 20s to 30s, were found with stab wounds. A dog was also found with stab injuries

“One of the men’s injuries was assessed as non life-threatening and he refused further medical treatment.

“The other man has been taken to hospital for treatment. His condition is not thought to be life threatening at this time.

“Two men have been arrested on suspicion of affray.”
