South-west London pharmacies open this weekend
Pharmacies across south-west London will be open over Easter to support patients during the coronavirus outbreak.
Most local pharmacies will be open from 2pm to 5pm on both Good Friday (10 April) and Easter Monday (12 April) unless social distancing rules make it impossible – for example in large shopping centres.
Some opening hours may vary – Full pharmacy opening hours in South West London across Croydon, Kingston, Merton, Richmond, Sutton and Wandsworth over Easter can be found here.
Although those days are Bank Holidays it has been decided due to the exceptional circumstances with Covid-19 pharmacies will open where possible.
Nick Beavon, South West London Pharmacy lead said: “Many of our community pharmacies across South West London will be open for essential services to help with local resident’s health needs.
“Every pharmacist is trained in managing minor illnesses and are experts in medicines and also offer health and wellbeing advice and you do not need to book an appointment.
“I would like to thank everyone working in our community pharmacies for their commitment and dedication supporting South West London at this time. Pharmacies will be working within social distancing guidelines so please remember to stay two metres away.”
Those who have a repeat prescription set up already and are self-isolating, please see if someone else is able to pick up the prescription for you and ask them to drop it off outside your door so that you can avoid face-to-face contact.
Many pharmacies or pharmacy services offer a home delivery – just ask for the delivery to be left outside. Otherwise ask a neighbour or family member to pick up their medication if possible.
While visiting a pharmacy counts as essential travel, people with symptoms of coronavirus, including a high temperature/fever or persistent cough, are being asked not to go If you have symptoms of coronavirus (a high temperature or a new, continuous cough), use the 111 coronavirus service.
