£2 raffle ticket could win you house of your dreams in Camberwell

A £2 raffle ticket might be all that is needed to own a family house in a highly sought after area.

A young family have put their £750,000 home in Eastlake Road, Camberwell, up as a raffle prize as they look for a family home following the birth of their first child.

The beautifully renovated Victorian townhouse is owned by Lucy Mieville, a 35-year-old nutritionist who personally designed the stunning interiors.

Lucy, and her 36-year old husband James, took the decision to raffle their home following the recent birth of their baby daughter.

Needing more space but concerned that they would face challenges selling their house due to the pandemic, they decided to raffle it instead.

Lucy said: “Following the birth of our beautiful daughter we realised we needed more bedrooms as we hope to have more children over the next few years.

“We love the area sandwiched between Brixton and Camberwell so decided to buy in 2015 and I’ve loved putting my heart and soul into designing the interiors and creating the home of my dreams.

“Now though, we want our family to grow and so need to sell, but given events over the past few months we are worried that we might not be able to find a buyer.

“A number of people are raffling their homes, and Raffle House has just successfully awarded a property, so we thought we’d give it a go.

“And that we can do this while also supporting two incredible charities also played a big part in our decision to raffle our home.

“We hope the winner loves the house just as much as we do and gets to enjoy Christmas there as we have so many times.”

The competition is being run by Raffle House, which earlier this month awarded a £500,000 two-bed apartment in South-east London.

“It is not only a tough time to sell a house in London but also to buy one with the economy sliding and people facing the possibility of pay cuts or worse, losing their jobs.

The £2 tickets for the competition can be purchased from the Raffle House website here where entrants can take advantage of special offers for purchasing tickets in bulk.

In house raffles a certain amount of tickets have to be sold to cover the cost of the home for both the seller and the organiser for the draw to take place. If the number is not yet a cash prize is usually offered to the holder of the winning ticket.
