The urban farm in Windsor Avenue, Merton Abbey, which has been going since 1978, suffered a major power failure at the start of the year, restricting visitor numbers and incurring a five-figure repair bill.

The charity Sustainable Merton addresses key issues such as air quality, food waste, and energy efficiency, while fostering social connections and improving well-being. 

On show at an event on Saturday were an apple press, stalls from  Sustainable Merton, who also supported the event, Merton Friends of the Earth, a plant stall, children’s games and activities. 

The 12th century venue is hosting the ‘Framed Fantasies’ exhibition, which has been supported by the Wandle Heritage Charity and Ripple Arts London. A private viewing took place on Friday.
