Catford Mews to host communal screening of Queen’s funeral

Catford Mews cinema has announced it will host a free live broadcast of Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in the cinema in tribute to her 70 years of dedicated service.

The picture house will screen the proceedings from the BBC throughout the day on Monday from 9.30am, instead of film screenings. There is no need to book tickets, just turn up any time.

The manager of Catford Mews, Agnieszka Szara, said: “The Queen has dedicated 70 years of her life to the country and the service on Monday is an historical and important moment that people want to experience together.

“Our cinema won’t be showing films as a mark of respect, so we felt that it was right that we allowed the local community to come together and use our space to pay their respects if they wish.”
