Child treated for smoke inhalation in flat fire near Southside Wandsworth shopping centre

Two adults and a child were treated for smoke inhalation after a flat fire.

Firefighters tackled the blaze on Monday morning in Neville Gill Close in Wandsworth, next to Southside Wandsworth shopping centre.

Part of a five-roomed flat on the seventh floor of a residential block was damaged by fire.

Two adults and a child were treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service crews after suffering from slight smoke inhalation.

The London Fire Brigade was called at around 1am and the fire was under control by around 1.45am.

Five fire engines and around 35 firefighters from Wandsworth, Battersea, Tooting and Fulham fire stations attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
