Celebrating the Achievements of Pitta Patta Day Nursery’s Class of 2024
In an atmosphere filled with pride and joy, Pitta Patta Day Nursery recently celebrated the graduation of its 25 Mini Graduates, Class of 2024.
This significant event not only marks a key milestone in the lives of these young children but also highlights the enduring commitment of Pitta Patta to early childhood education since its establishment in 2006.
Located at 48 St Germans Road, Pitta Patta Day Nursery has been a beacon of excellence in our community for nearly two decades. From its inception, the nursery has been dedicated to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can grow, learn, and thrive.
The Graduation Day ceremony was a testament to this dedication, showcasing the progress and achievements of the young graduates.
The celebration was attended by parents, staff, friends as well as the Labour MP for Lewisham West and East Dulwich, Ellie Reeves.
Speaking at the event MP Reeves said: “It’s really important that every child gets the best possible start in life.
“Pitta Patta has been going for 18 years and is really well respected in the local community. You can see today how much the children are nurtured and looked after here.
“It was moving to see the children dressed up in their gowns and graduating to set off on that journey into school.”
The 25 graduates, dressed in charming miniature caps and gowns, were the centre of attention.
As they marched down the red carpet to receive their certificates, the air was filled with applause, cheers, and a few happy tears. Each child’s journey through Pitta Patta was acknowledged and celebrated, reflecting the hard work and dedication of both the students and the staff.
The ceremony featured a series of performances by the graduates, which included songs and dances. These performances were not only entertaining but also a clear demonstration of the skills and confidence the children had developed during their time at the nursery.
One Pitta Patta graduate, Federico Floravanti, said: “I liked graduation because I ate lots of food and saw my friends”.
Another young graduate, Pheobe Pepe–Whiting, said: “I liked graduation because I loved singing”.
Pheobe’s mum, Victoria Pepe-Whiting, said: “Pitta Patta has been the most fantastic nursery for our daughter, and the ceremony was a wonderful chance to celebrate her graduation with all her friends.”
Pitta Patta’s curriculum emphasises learning through play and exploration, and this was evident in the enthusiasm and joy displayed by the children.
Nursery Manager, Fiona Scahill delivered an inspiring speech, expressing her pride in the graduates and gratitude to the parents and staff.
She said: “Today, we celebrate the incredible journey of our Mini Graduates. They have grown so much, learned so much, and have bright futures ahead of them.
“We are grateful to the parents for their trust and to our dedicated staff for their unwavering commitment to nurturing these young minds.”
Pitta Patta’s approach to early childhood education is rooted in the belief that every child is unique and capable of achieving great things. The nursery provides a safe and stimulating environment where children are encouraged to explore, create, and discover.
The Graduation Day ceremony was not just a celebration of the children’s achievements, but also a reflection of the values and principles that Pitta Patta stands for.
It underscored the importance of early childhood education and the positive impact it can have on a child’s development. The success of the Class of 2024 is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the entire Pitta Patta community.
