St Thomas the Apostle College… graded “outstanding” in every category
St Thomas the Apostle College in Nunhead – a boys’ school with a mixed sixth form – is celebrating another year of stellar GCSE and A-level results.
The school is consistently one of the top schools nationally, and this year the pupils have set new records with their top grades.
At A-level more than half of all grades were an A* or A, and a staggering 81 per cent were awarded a grade B or higher.
St Thomas the Apostle’s GCSE results were equally impressive, with a provisional Progress 8 score of 1.2 indicating the school is likely to yet again be placed within the top 20 schools in the UK.
Headteacher Eamon Connolly said: “I am delighted, though not surprised by these results. Our GCSE and A-level grades are a culmination of the hard work we see from our students and the outstanding teaching they receive day in, day out.”
St Thomas the Apostle College was last inspected in November 2018 – the Ofsted report praised every aspect of the school and graded it “outstanding” in every category.
Inspectors remarked that “pupils behave impeccably in lessons and throughout the school. They are polite, thoughtful and determined to do well”.
The school is rightfully proud of its students and their achievements and warmly invite parents of prospective Year 7 students to visit during one of their September open events.
