Former Charlton boss set for Premier League assistant managerial role

Former Charlton boss Karl Robinson is set to be brought in by Sam Allardyce as his assistant manager at Leeds United.

Javi Gracia is set to be relieved of his duties at Elland Road, with former England boss Allardyce coming in for the final four games of the Premier League season.

Robinson, who has been out of work since leaving Oxford in February, managed Charlton between November 2016 to March 2018, taking charge of 74 games in all competitions.

Leeds are above the relegation zone on goal difference after losing 4-1 at Bournemouth on Sunday also sacked director of football Victor Orta on Tuesday morning.

Robinson turned down an approach to become Leeds boss in 2016 when the club was run by Massimo Cellino.

The 42-year-old started his managerial career at Milton Keynes and led the club to the Championship.
