Costa Del Croydon: Rooftop beach lands in the centre of Croydon

By Sophia Shade

Croydon isn’t known for being a seaside paradise, but this summer’s Costa Del Croydon aims to change that.

Jam-packed with family activities, street food, and community days, the month-long free access festival is bringing the summer shores to the heart of the borough.

Costa Del Croydon will acts as an accessible and vibrant hub for those wanting to indulge in sun-filled activities, without the hassle.

Open from August 1 to 28, the event will be located on the rooftop of Centrale’s multi-storey car park in Tamworth Road, offering both seaside fun and city views.

Open seven days a week, Costa Del Croydon is a perfect day out for families.

Two sessions will run each day, between 11.30am and 7.30pm, which will offer exciting activities for children including a giant sandpit, bungee trampolines and a water splash zone.

But, if you’re in need of a more tranquil break, it’s equally the dream destination.

Offering a wide variety of delicious street food options, cocktails, and plenty of seating areas, Costa Del Croydon is an ideal spot to relax and socialise, while soaking up the summer sun.

Every Tuesday, Croydon Voluntary Action (CVA) will host a community day, where local groups and performances have a stage to showcase their talents, acting as a great opportunity for Croydon to come together.
