Become a young leader for diabetes
Life with type 1 diabetes is complicated – especially if you are young.
Diabetes UK has a programme to help young people who live with type 1 diabetes feel less isolated and alone.
It is called Our Lives, Our Choices, Our Voices.
It supports young people to understand and feel more confident about managing type 1, develop peer support networks and help young people make a difference to local health systems.
We’re looking for young leaders aged 16 to 25 to volunteer with us and help shape the programme.
They will be trained and supported to create spaces online and in the community where young people can chat together, share ideas, raise issues – and have fun.
Young leaders will have the opportunity to get involved in activities at a local level.
As well as giving people the chance to make a real difference to young people who live with type 1 diabetes, becoming a young leader will be CV-boosting with solid references for work and educational applications.
