New musical TROLLS OnLINE playing at The Cockpit from March 30 until April 1

An 81 year old theatre veteran is using his own money to finance a new musical.

Tim Thomas’, TROLLS OnLINE , will be shown at The Cockpit, in Gateforth Street, Marylebone.

With a cast of 11 actors, four musicians, sound and lighting designers, stage management and a director, Mr Thomas’ project was not cheap.

Mr Thomas said: “I was determined that everyone should be properly paid, and arts funding is pretty much non-existent these days.

“So I scraped together my life savings, and remortgaged my flat.

“Well…you can’t take it with you, can you?”

The new musical deals with the perils of the online world, where public and political opinion can be manipulated by an anonymous online presence, but there is also a strong environmental message contained within the piece.

The show runs at The Cockpit from March 30 until April 1, for five performances.

Mr Thomas does not expect to make his money back from the project.

He said: “I want to say something, I want to do something, however small, to make a positive difference.”

Mr Thomas has had a long career in Theatre.

As an actor he worked for the RSC and the Young Vic and he has toured the country playing leading Shakespearean roles.
