Celebrity line-up for WaterAid’s Christmas Carol Concert at St Paul’s Cathedral

Sir Tony Robinson and Amanda Mealing have recently joined the line-up for WaterAid’s Christmas Carol Concert at St Paul’s Cathedral.

WaterAid’s concert, to be held on Tuesday, December 6, will bring the magic of Christmas to London’s iconic St Paul’s Cathedral.

It promises to be an unforgettable evening featuring festive carols, performances, poetry and readings.

Actor and broadcaster Sir Tony from Blackadder and actress Amanda Mealing from Casualty have recently joined the line up and will be doing readings at the event.

The music for the evening has been carefully curated by the Cathedral’s director of music, Andrew Carwood, and the line-up will include Brit award nominee and opera singer Carly Paoli, the iconic Choir of St Paul’s Cathedral and the City of London Sinfonia Orchestra.

In the spirit of Christmas, all proceeds of the event will go to WaterAid charity, an organisation working towards a global vision to make clean water and good hygiene accessible a reality for everyone.

WaterAid research has shown that one in 10 people do not have clean water close to home, and more than one in five don’t have a decent toilet of their own.

Additionally, about 290,000 children die every year from diarrhoea diseases caused by poor water and sanitation, that amounts to one child every two minutes.

Sir Tony said: “Christmas is a time for reflection and realising how lucky we are in the UK in 1,000 ways, not least being able to access clean water at the turn of a tap. I am thrilled to be reading at WaterAid’s Christmas Carol concert.”
