Presenter Esi hosts free DJ workshop in celebration of Black History Month

Budding DJ’s prepare yourselves, Kiss Fresh breakfast presenter Esi is hosting a free DJ workshop to celebrate Black History Month.

The DJ equipment brand, Pioneer DJ, has announced Start from Scratch.

The event is part of a series of sessions celebrating Black History Month and the achievements of black DJs around the world.

The free event will be held at fabric, in Charterhouse Street, Farringdon on October 18.

The two-hour hands-on dive into the foundations of DJing will crucial insights into the electronic music industry and how to improve each individual’s skills.

Led by DJ and presenter, Esi, the workshop encourages black DJs and persons from all communities of colour to take part.

Esi has established herself as one to watch in the DJ world, racking up features across national broadcasters, including No Signal, BBC 1Xtra and Capital Xtra.

Outside of the world of radio, as a DJ, Esi has taken to some iconic stages including Wireless Festival as well as playing for global artists such as Megan Thee Stallion.

She said: “Pioneer DJ is such an integral brand for DJs, and I loved being able to take part at the last session, meeting everyone who wanted to take their passion with music and DJing seriously.”
