Ride for a reason – raise funds for Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity at Ride London in July

The popular Prudential Ride London – Surrey 100 bike ride is taking place on 29 July and Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity is calling on cyclists to sign up for the remaining 30 places it still has available for anyone wishing to raise much needed funds for the charity, which supports families with a seriously ill child.

The famous 100-mile challenge will see thousands of cyclists set off from Stratford’s Olympic Park before continuing along the route which takes riders past London landmarks, through Surrey’s green hills and back to the capital – all on closed roads.

There are already 50 people riding in support of Rainbow Trust. To secure one of Rainbow Trust’s 30 places by 25 May participants pay a £25 registration fee and raise £600, to help the charity support families across the country who have a seriously ill child.

Rainbow Trust enables families who have a child with a life threatening illness to make the most of their time together by pairing each family with an expert Family Support Worker who helps them at home, in hospital and in the community.

Ride London participants will benefit from professional team training days, including practice on challenging hills and dedicated fundraising and training advice. Each rider will also receive Rainbow Trust’s bright, technical cycling jersey and will be spurred on by cheering squads along the route.

Always a popular fundraiser, previous years have seen Rainbow Trust riders raise significant funds for the charity and as Bernard Bunting, who has taken on the challenge four times, confirms, it is ‘exhilarating, inspiring and exhausting’.
