The Great British Seaside, National Maritime Museum

Photographer Martin Parr once said that “the beach is that rare public space in which all absurdities and quirky national behaviours can be found.”

‘The Great British Seaside: Photography from 1960s to present’ managed by the National Maritime Museum which runs from Thursday 8 March 2018 until Monday 27 August 2018.

From abandoned piers to the dazzling arcades, the British seaside is brought to life through the lenses of Tony Ray-Jones, David Hurn and Simon Roberts and new work by Mr Parr.
