‘World’s smallest publisher fair’ at the Peckham Pelican

The Uncorrected Independent Publishers’ Fair (TUIPF), “the world’s smallest publisher fair”, is coming to Peckham to showcase independent presses from across the UK.

The sixth TUIPF will take place on June 8, at The Peckham Pelican, in Peckham Road, as part of Camberwell Arts Festival.

Featuring seven innovative independent UK publishers, this year’s line-up includes The 87 Press, a diverse publishing collective, Fitzcarraldo Editions which publishes contemporary fiction and essays, Infinity Land Press which deals in exclusive and clandestine publications and Strange Attractor Press which prides itself on celebrating unpopular culture.

Also featured in the line-up are Prototype, which focuses on fiction, poetry and interdisciplinary projects, Rough Trade Books which publishes counter culture and Tangerine Press, an indie publisher based in South London.

Taking place at the café and art space The Peckham Pelican – an open bar serving beers, ciders, wine, coffee and food throughout the day – TUIPF is free to attend and open to all.

This unique literary feast caters for all genres and needs, from prose to poetry, fiction and photography books, with special event prices on paperbacks, hardback limited editions, artist books, broadsides, prints and handbound gems.

In addition to book sales and viewings, TUIPF will have live readings by authors representing each of the seven indie publishers. These will start from 2pm.

Michael Curran, founder of Tangerine Press said: “It’s great to be back again at the fair’s spiritual home, The Peckham Pelican.

“TUIPF is a compact, curated, intimate, seven-publisher affair, and has been since it began in 2017.

“What makes TUIPF extra special is that we’re in an open, airy artspace with food, booze, coffees and teas easily to hand.

“There’s no stuffy hall to worry about and the vibe is much more Relaxed.”
