Kennington man who fatally stabbed the brother of Grammy Award-winning rapper 21 Savage is jailed

A man who fatally stabbed the brother of Grammy Award-winning rapper 21 Savage has been jailed for 10 years.

Tyrece Fuller, 22, of Tavy Close, Kennington, was found guilty of the manslaughter of 27-year-old Terrell Davis-Emmons who was stabbed in the chest last November.

Mr Davis-Emmons is the younger brother of US rapper 21 Savage, who’s real name is Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph.

CCTV captured Mr Davis-Emmons lifting up his shirt to look at his chest wound before immediately losing consciousness and falling face first into a bush. He had beeen walking along Ramilles Close with shopping for his grandmother.

Following a week and a half long trial at Inner London Crown Court, Fuller was sentenced yesterday to 10 years’ imprisonment for manslaughter and three years for possession of an offensive weapon, to run concurrently.

The court heard that CCTV captured the attack on Mr Davis-Emmons in Brixton Hill on the evening of November 22, 2020.

Fuller was seen hanging around Blenheim Gardens estate near to communal gardens at the rear of Ramilles Close, Brixton Hill.

At around 5.53pm, CCTV captured a figure, the victim Mr Davis-Emmons, walking toward where Fuller is standing.

Fuller is then seen entering a property on Ramilles Close but shortly after he is seen leaving the address and appears to put something into his pocket or waistband.

Mr Davis-Emmons is then captured on CCTV approaching Fuller and hugging him.

A fight breaks out between the two with both men brandishing knives at each other before they are separated by a third man.

Both men are seen putting their weapon away and the pair separate and seem to go in opposite directions, still shouting at each other.

Shortly before 6pm, Fuller is then seen pulling out a knife again and stabbing Mr Davis-Emmons once to the chest before running away towards Prague Place.

Emergency services arrived at the scene two minutes later in a bid to save Mr Davis-Emmons’ life.

An Air Ambulance crew arrived at 6.20pm and carried out emergency resuscitation but he was pronounced dead at 6.39pm.

Fuller was first arrested by police on November 24 and was initially released under investigation.

Two days later, police executed a search warrant at a property on Ramilles Close where a disconnected CCTV recording system was recovered.

Following a review of the footage, which had recorded the fatal stabbing, Fuller was re-arrested shortly after midnight on November 28 and charged the same day.

Mr Davis-Emmons’ older sibling, who is said to be one of the most recognisable faces and highest earning musicians in rap, posted a tribute to his ‘baby bro’ at the time with a photo of them together as children on his Instagram account, which has almost 13 million followers.

London-born 21 Savage, real name Sheyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, wrote: ‘Can’t believe somebody took you baby bro I know I took my anger out on you I wish I could take that s**t back.’

The 29-year-old and Mr Davis-Emmons were half-brothers, sharing the same father, Kevin Emmons. The younger rapper recorded tracks under the name TM1Way YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-nsAuUiIMo

Detective Chief Inspector Kate Kieran, who led the investigation, said: “I would firstly like to say my thoughts are with Terrell’s family as they continue to come to terms with the tragic events of the past year.

“The events of November 22 clearly demonstrate the dangers of carrying a knife.

“The Met will continue to clamp down on violence in all its forms so we see no more young men losing their lives on our streets.”
