Millwall boss Gary Rowett to run London Marathon in aid of Lions Food Hub

Millwall manager Gary Rowett is running the 2022 London Marathon as part of a fundraising push for the Lions Food Hub.

The Lions Food Hub started during the Covid-19 pandemic to help those in need within the Bermondsey area and has become increasingly important during the current cost of living crisis.

Items purchased will include dried foods and tinned soups, as well as essential hygiene and household goods.

Former Millwall Lionesses goalkeeper Kelly Webster launched the Lions Food Hub in 2021.

The London Marathon takes place on Sunday October 2.

Rowett has one Millwall fixture to contend with before then, the South Londoners heading to Blackburn Rovers after the international break on October 1.

Everyone at the South London Press thanks you for your continued support.

Former Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick has encouraged everyone in the country who can afford to do so to buy a newspaper, and told the Downing Street press briefing:

“A FREE COUNTRY NEEDS A FREE PRESS, AND THE NEWSPAPERS OF OUR COUNTRY ARE UNDER SIGNIFICANT FINANCIAL PRESSURE”

If you can afford to do so, we would be so grateful if you can make a donation which will allow us to continue to bring stories to you, both in print and online. Or please make cheques payable to “MSI Media Limited” and send by post to South London Press, Unit 112, 160 Bromley Road, Catford, London SE6 2NZ
