13 year old boy left in critical condition after house fire in Croydon

A 13 year old boy was taken to hospital last night after being caught in a house fire in Thornton Heath.

Police and fire services attended the house address in Camden Gardens at 17.40 and found the boy suffering from smoke inhalation.

A man, aged in his 30s, and a woman, aged in her 20s, were both injured as they tried to rescue the injured boy.

Another man, two children and there firefighters were taken to hospital suffering the effects of smoke inhalation. They have all since been discharged from hospital.

The cause of the fire has not been established and an investigation is underway. At this early stage, there is no evidence to suggest that the incident is suspicious.
