26-year-old woman named in fatal stabbing in Lambeth
A woman who was fatally stabbed in Lambeth on Sunday has been named as 26-year-old Azaria Williams.
Police were called to an address in Clapham Road, SW9 at 9pm on Sunday following reports of a disturbance.
Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a woman who had been stabbed.
Despite the efforts of the emergency services, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Azaria’s family is being supported by specialist officers.
Mark Alexander, 27, from Lambeth was arrested at the scene and charged with murder.
Alexander appeared in custody at Croydon Magistrates’ Court today and is next due to appear at the Old Bailey tomorrow.
Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command (Homicide) are currently investigating.
