£30m project to provide low carbon heat to Nine Elms homes

A heat network will deliver low carbon, cost-effective heat to residents and businesses in up to 3,500 homes.

The £30m project which will serve future developments in the Nine Elms area of Wandsworth – one of the capital’s largest brownfield regeneration sites.

The project will see energy firm, ENGIE, begin work to build the scheme to provide low carbon, cost effective heat to new developments across the site, saving of 12,000 tonnes of CO2 compared to traditional energy supply with 1.5km of pre-insulated steel pipe.

This first phase of the scheme will serve planned developments near to the US Embassy and EcoWorld Ballymore’s Embassy Gardens, with the opportunity to expand to serve surrounding areas in the future.
