Academy hits the jackpot with Ofsted outstanding rating in all areas
Pupils and staff at a junior school are celebrating after their academy was judged outstanding in all categories by Ofsted.
The inspection, which took place in early November, found that Harris Junior Academy Carshalton had improved on its previous ‘Good’ judgement.
In their report, inspectors praised the Academy for the quality of teaching and the “highly aspirational” curriculum on offer, leading pupils to develop a “wealth of subject-specific knowledge and depth of understanding”.
All pupils, including those with SEND, “receive the guidance and support they need”, and pupils throughout the Academy reported feeling “valued and cared for”, the report said.
Inspectors observed pupils having a “genuine passion” for learning as well as consistently demonstrating “high levels of motivation”.
Georgina Barnes, Head of Academy at Harris Junior Academy Carshalton, said: “I am so proud of our staff and pupils, whose hard work and dedication has led to this brilliant Ofsted judgement.
“This report will spur us to continue to work hard to give our pupils a fantastic education which nurtures and challenges them to be successful in all areas of their lives.”
