Twin academies receive outstanding Ofsted rating
Students at two secondary academies are celebrating after being judged Outstanding by Ofsted for the second time running.
The two Harris secondary academies in East Dulwich celebrated after they received the news.
Inspectors who visited Harris Girls’ Academy, in Homestall Road, highlighted pupils’ “extremely positive” attitudes to learning.
Jo Young, Principal of Harris Girls’ Academy East Dulwich, said: “As the inspectors rightly found, our students thrive here and I could not be prouder of how hard they all work and how determined they are to achieve their full potential.
At Harris Boys’ Academy, in Peckham Rye, inspectors described student behaviour as “exemplary”.
Christopher Brett, Principal of Harris Boys’ Academy East Dulwich, said: “Maintaining an Outstanding judgement is no easy feat and I want to congratulate and thank our fantastic staff for challenging, inspiring and nurturing our students.”
In 2023, fewer than a fifth of schools which had previously been judged Outstanding maintained the grade.
