Arrests made after pair pose as police in aggravated burglary in Wandsworth
Two men have been arrested as part of an investigation into an aggravated burglary in Wandsworth.
The pair, aged 53 and 34, were arrested on suspicion on aggravated burglary on Wednesday.
They remain in custody at a South London police station.
Police were called just before 10am on Monday, November 29 to reports of an aggravated burglary at a residential address in Arabella Drive, Barnes.
At the scene officers found a woman, aged in her 30s, who had been approached outside her address by two men wearing caps with the word ‘police’ on the front.
They claimed to be there to conduct a drug search. When the victim challenged them they forced her inside her home and assaulted her, causing cuts and bruises.
The men searched the address and left with a two-month old female American XL bulldog puppy, which is described as ‘blue merle’.
Cash and a bag containing Christmas gifts were also stolen.
The victim was treated at hospital for injuries before being discharged.

A police spokeswoman said: “Unfortunately, there have been occasions where criminals have posed as police officers, both in person and on the phone.
“If one of our officers contacts you in person, they’ll show you their police warrant card. This is proof of their identity and authority.
“If you are unsure about whether the person you’re dealing with is a genuine police officer – stop – and call us on 101 to check their identity. In an emergency always call 999.
