Bank of Dave star set for Bromley Library appearance

Dave Fishwick, the maverick entrepreneur, philanthropist and TV star, will be giving a talk at Bromley Central Library at the end of the month, sharing his experiences and offering tips to aspiring tycoons.

Dave left school at 16 with no qualifications but nevertheless went on to become a hugely successful businessman.

He came to fame a few years ago via the Channel 4 TV documentary ‘Bank of Dave’ which featured him taking on the high street banks and loan sharks and setting up ‘Burnley Savings and Loans’.

Other TV appearances include ‘The Secret Millions’, ‘How to Get Rich Quick’ and ‘Your Money and Your Life’.

Chandra Sharma, one of the library’s business start-up managers, explains why he was thrilled to book Dave for the event. He said: “I was given a list of inspirational speakers to choose from and, without hesitation, I chose Dave Fishwick. He has a great entrepreneurial spirit plus he has released two films on Netflix and a documentary.

“I thought that his journey would be a real inspiration for anyone looking to go into business. He is also someone who challenged the status quo, setting up his own bank despite various obstacles. He has also won a battle against loan sharks.”

Dave will be appearing at Bromley Central Library, Bromley High Street, on Tuesday, March 25, from 6-8pm. The event is free to attend. To book, visit the library in person or call 0203 931 0900.
