The neighbours of the three family members who were found dead in a home in Belvedere have said they are “fearful” of what has happened on their street.
Nadja De Jager, 47, and her two sons, nine-year-old Alexander and seven-year-old Maximus, were found dead yesterday at a home in Mayfield Road, Belvedere.
The Met has said detectives are not “actively seeking anyone else” in connection with the investigation.
Neighbour Dawn Garton, aged 60, said: “I’d never met the lady and her two boys. She used to drive up and down the road with her car and sometimes I’d see her with her boys.
“Police have been here since yesterday there were five cars and vans and ambulances so it’s been pretty worrying.
“It’s worrying because you don’t know what’s going on.”
The Met said it forced entry into the property after concerns were raised for those inside at around 11.50am. The three family members were found and pronounced dead at the scene.
Another neighbour, Harpreet Kaur, 28, has lived on the road for a year and said: “I didn’t know the woman but seeing all the police has made me very fearful. I read about what happened yesterday and I can’t explain how I feel.”
Flowers have been left at the property in Belvedere and a cordon remains in place.
Detective Inspector Ollie Stride, investigating, said: “This is a deeply sad case and we are continuing to establish the circumstances that led to this tragic incident.
“I would like to thank the local community for their cooperation while our officers go about their enquiries.
“Our thoughts today are very much with the family as they struggle to come to terms with their loss and we ask that their privacy be respected at this extremely difficult time.”
