Boy, 16, in court after fatal Christmas Eve stabbing of Kacey Clarke

A teenage boy has appeared in court following the fatal stabbing of 22-year-old Kacey Clarke on Christmas Eve.

The 16-year-old boy – who cannot be named for legal reasons – appeared at the Old Bailey yesterday charged with murder.

A trial date was set for July 15 and the boy was remanded in youth detention.

Police were called at around 10pm to reports of a woman suffering from a stab injury at a house in Spenlow House, Jamaica Road, Bermondsey.

Officers attended along with paramedics who provided emergency first aid to Ms Clarke, but she died at the scene.

The 16-year-old – who is known to the victim – was arrested nearby on suspicion of murder.

A post-mortem examination gave Ms Clarke’s cause of death as a single, sharp-force trauma to the chest.
