British Transport Police appeal for witnesses after CS gas released at Oxford Circus Tube station
British Transport Police have released a 24-year-old man arrested for suspected involvement in a fight which resulted in suspected CS gas being released on the London Underground.
The incident was reported at 9.13am on Saturday, after a fight is reported to have broken out between a group of people on a train carriage at Oxford Circus station.
The gas was discharged, hitting a number of bystanders. They were treated at the scene for coughing and shortness of breath. There are no further health concerns.
The man, who is believed to be one of the group involved in the fight, was arrested on
suspicion of affray and administering poison with intent to injure or annoy.
He has since been released under investigation while officers carry out further enquiries.
Officers are appealing for information on the identity of two other men connected to the incident and have released CCTV images of the men they want to speak to.
