Brixton set for brand new music venue to open on former site of Prince of Wales

A brand new music venue is set to open this week in Brixton, promising to shake up South London’s nightlife.

Brixton Storeys will launch on Friday, on the site of the former Prince of Wales pub in Brixton Road.

The first venue in the area to have a 24-hour music and alcohol license, Brixton Storeys will open with ‘A Tribute To Alfredo Balearic Beat’ roof party.

The 750-capacity venue offers multiple rooms with high-tech sound and production.

Stevie Thomas, head of Brixton Storeys, said: “We wanted to bring a fresh narrative to Brixton nightlife but stay connected to the area’s heritage.

“This iconic venue is perfect for that and has been fully renovated with a new perspective that brings it right up to date.

“Along with transforming the main club into the Red Room which will bring all sorts of exciting headline artists, there will also be a real focus on events with emerging artists and LGBTQIA+ communities who will be given a platform to party in their own unique way.”

The SKY Terraces, set to be completed by June, include two outdoor rooftop terraces, full sound systems and a DJ booth.

The venue has partnered with Ticketmaster to attract more audiences.

Tim Goom, Client Development Director, Music at Ticketmaster said: “Brixton’s rich musical heritage sets the stage for Brixton Storeys to be a game-changer for the local scene.”
