Brixton six-year-old wins UK crown of prestigious international contest – and will go on to represent us for world title

A six-year-old has won an important pageant for one of the most well-known organisations in the world – and will now go on to represent the UK in the international competition in November.
Sara Tamiyah-King, from Brixton, claimed the International Junior Miss UK Crown, a contest which aims to encourage positive achievement by helping to develop and strengthen self-awareness in young women.
She came out on top after taking part in mandatory competitions including contestant intros, interview, fashion, and evening gown.
Sara, who also won the award for Best Casual Wear for an outfit that she chose herself from the high street, only had three weeks to prepare for the competition.
Other contestants had been preparing for a year.
The winner of the UK final gets money towards competing in the internationals as well as a sash, a photoshoot, and a weekend break.
The international finalists have a chance to win cash scholarships, Disney themed sessions, and a car.
Sara, posted her delight on her official Instagram page: “I am so happy to say that I am now the IJM UK 2022 Princess.
“Thank You @internationaljuniormissuk and @internationaljuniormiss for choosing me to be your Miss UK Princess.
“I will cherish this moment forever.”
Mother, Ihssan Dhimi said: “She is so happy with her achievements.
“She is such a trooper; she volunteers at the Brixton soup kitchen.
“She hopes to raise money and awareness for the soup kitchen.”
Ruth Wade, the director for the International Junior Miss United Kingdom competition said: “I have been involved in the pageant industry for over 10 years and I have witnessed first-hand the incredible benefits pageantry can bring to young women.
“I wanted to bring more opportunities for young ladies in the UK to compete on the international level.”
The IJM is part of the iAM Pageant Powerhouse, which is one of the largest systems in the world.
Annually, more than $1,500,000 in scholarships, prizes and awards are presented to young ladies.
