Chairs thrown and several injured after a ‘minor disagreement’ escalates into a bar knife fight

A brawl that erupted in a bar in Hammersmith and Fulham has left several people with knife injuries.

Chairs were thrown across the bar after a minor disagreement between a group of men escalated into a knife fight in Wandsworth Bridge Road.

Police were called at 11.45pm on Wednesday, June 16, following reports of a large group of people fighting and armed with knives.

Following medical assessment, none of their injuries were deemed as life-threatening.

Six males – all in their early 20s – were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and grievous bodily harm (GBH).

They were taken into custody and later released on bail. Detectives continue to investigate the altercation.

Detective Constable Jenny Carney said: “The bar was very busy that night and I believe there will have been many people who filmed what happened.

“I urge those people to make contact as soon as possible; two men are lucky not to have sustained more serious injuries, while six others have been arrested.

“Please give us your information, video and images so we can get to the bottom of what has happened here and bring any offenders to justice.”
