Children’s hospital calls on young artists to help design new centre

Evelina London Children’s Hospital has launched a competition for young artists to design artwork for its new Children’s Day Treatment Centre.

The theme for the interior design is outer space, which was chosen in collaboration with staff and patients to match the natural world theme of Evelina London’s main hospital building.

The winning designs will be brought to life by Japanese manga artist Kiriko Kubo.

The space-themed artwork in the Children’s Day Treatment Centre will be used to guide patients and families through the building and to stimulate their imagination.

The competition is open to current and former patients as well as children and young people who go to school or live in London and the south east.

A judging panel which will include Kiriko, Evelina London staff and a young person will select an overall winner and winners from three different age categories, which are: The deadline for competition entries is midnight on Monday, June 20.
