Court appearance for man charged with Wandsworth Road killing of Dontae

A man has been charged with the murder of Dontae McLaren in Lambeth.

Dynzell Patrick, 26, appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court this morning where he was remanded in custody to next appear at the Old Bailey on Monday.

Patrick was arrested by officers on Tuesday.

Police were called shortly after 4am on Sunday following reports of a large group fighting with knives in Wandsworth Road.

Met officers, London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended.

Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, 24-year-old Dontae McLaren was pronounced dead at the scene. Specialist officers continue to support his family.
