Most popular primary schools in Croydon revealed

A Purley primary school is the toughest in England to get a place at.
Figures from the Department for Education show that just 26 per cent of parents who put Beaumont Primary School as their first choice secured a place for this September.
Including second and third preferences, there were 13 applications for each of the 30 places offered there this year.
This is far lower than the next hardest to get a place at – Chestnut Park Primary School – where 44 per cent of parents who put it down as their first choice were offered a place for their child.
Here there were six applications for each of the 90 places available.
Parents of children born between September 1, 2016 and August 31, 2017 can now apply for a primary school place for next September.
The closing date for applications is January 15, 2021 ahead of national offer day on April 16.
The 10 most popular primary schools in Croydon this year were:
- Beaumont Primary School – 25.5 per cent of first preferences offered
- Chestnut Park Primary School – 43.8 per cent of first preferences offered
- Rockmount Primary School – 52.3 per cent of first preferences offered
- St John’s CofE Primary School – 56.4 per cent of first preferences offered
- Atwood Primary Academy – 57.4 per cent of first preferences offered
- Oasis Academy Ryelands – 62.8 per cent of first preferences offered
- The Hayes Primary School – 63.4 per cent of first preferences offered
- Gresham Primary School – 65.9 per cent of first preferences offered
- Greenvale Primary School – 66.7 per cent of first preferences offered
- Park Hill Infant School – 67.4 per cent of first preferences offered
