Duchess drops in to visit youngsters at the Henry Fawcett Children’s Centre in Clayton Street, Kennington

The Duchess of Cambridge has three little handfuls of her own at home – one of them the heir to the throne.
But even the luminous royal formerly known as Kate Middleton was upstaged by two tearaway tots when she visited the Henry Fawcett Children’s Centre in Clayton Street, Kennington, to learn more about the work of Lambeth projects supporting children and their families.
Kate, ditching her dress for a trouser-and-blouse combo, so she could engage with the tiny treasures at eye level, visited the centre to see how the Lambeth Early Action Partnership (LEAP) works.
Kate sat in on a ‘Together Time’ session, where parents could attend with their children and talk about their struggles and learn tips from each other and childcare professionals.
Kate was introduced to 23-month-old twins Kamina and Kashay, whose mother Finesse called them “divas in the making” and “double the trouble”.
The royal talked to another mum, Kriti, who was there with her son, Kameron, nine months.
“Louis just wants to pull himself up all the time,” said Kate, of her youngest tot Prince Louis. “He has got these little walkers and is bombing around in them.”
Kriti said afterwards: “She took one look at Kameron and said ‘Oh he wants to go walkies’.
Apparently, her son is pulling himself up using the furniture and she said she was running after him all the time.”
LEAP was set up in 2015, with the help of the National Lottery Community Fund, to test new ways of strengthening support services for families with children under four.
Prince William’s wife is focusing her work on the early years of a child’s development. Seasoned royal fashion watchers say the Duchess was wearing a new £790 Gucci blouse with a favourite pair of £130 high waist trousers by Jigsaw.
And apparently the blouse was on back to front.
One paper even asked Kensington Palace for a comment on this “wardrobe malfunction”.
