Forest Hill traffic chaos after ‘300 litres of oil’ spilled
An oil spill outside Forest Hill railway station has created a backlog of traffic in the area as firefighters attempt to make the scene safe.
Images taken from Transport for London (TfL) cameras show an orange liquid on the ground at the corner of London Road, also known as the South Circular, and Dartmouth Road in Lewisham.
TfL and the London Fire Brigade (LFB) confirmed 300 litres of hydraulic oil had spilled on to the road.
The Metropolitan Police have warned motorists to avoid the area and said the spill had caused disruption in Rushey Green, Catford Road, Plassy Road and Stansted Road.

This is an understatement. The eastwards carriage way is closed from the Horniman through to Catford and there are a couple of broken down buses at the Forest Hill end. Avoid.
