Former opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn holds talks on an agenda for Southwark
Former opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn will give a talk on Saturday March 5 offering “A socialist agenda for Southwark”.
The Islington MP will be a St Peter’s Church, Liverpool Grove, SE17 2HH ahead of the May Council election campaign. .
The Socialist Agenda for Southwark began last year when activists on the left of the Labour Party in Southwark, ahead of the local elections, decided to get together and write down what we thought a socialist council should do.
It covers lots of areas including education, equalities and communities, the economy, social care, the environment and housing, and can be found at http://bit.ly/southwark agenda.
A number of these activists are also seeking to be elected as Labour councillors.
Left-wing members of the party are staging the meeting to hear from residents across the borough about happening in communities during and post-Covid, listening to activists from trade unions and other community groups about the struggles they are having and their hopes and plans for the future of the borough, as well as how we can fight for them together.
