Fourth teenager charged in Charlie Bartolo killing

A fourth teenager has been charged with the murder of 16-year-old Charlie Bartolo.

Alagie Jobe, 18, whose address has only been given as of South-east London, has been charged with murder and will appear in custody at Bexley Magistrates’ Court today.

The Met were unable to provide an address for Jobe over concerns for those living there.

Jobe is the first person to be charged with the murder of Charlie Bartolo in Sewell Road, Abbey Wood, but not Kearne Solanke, who was also stabbed to death less than a mile away in Titmuss Avenue, Thamesmead.

An investigation was launched after police were called at around 5.10pm on November 26 to the scenes of the stabbings, where they found the two boys.

Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, both boys died.

The police have linked the two cases. So far, three other teenagers have been charged with both murders.

Hussain Bah, 18, also of South-east London, and two boys – a 15 and 16-year-old – have been charged with both murders.

They have been remanded in custody and are due to stand trial at the Old Bailey on November 6, 2023.

Two boys, both aged 16, were also arrested on suspicion of both murders. They have been released on bail pending further enquiries and are due to return to a South London police station in February 2023.
