Greenwich rolls out Covid-19 vaccine programme for young people aged 12 to 15
Young people aged 12 to 15 in Greenwich will soon start receiving their Covid-19 jab.
Greenwich GPs, supported by Oxleas Young Greenwich school nurses, are rolling out the vaccination programme to schools across the borough.
Councillor Matt Morrow, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: “I urge all families and young people in Royal Greenwich to consider the offer of the vaccine and to take it up as soon as the rollout reaches your school.
“The vaccine protects you and stops the virus spreading, meaning you can continue to be in school, seeing your friends every day and getting the best quality education.
“Getting the jab helps us all get back to doing the things we love, safely.
“The appropriate consent will be secured from parents and carers of any 12 to 15-year-old getting the jab.”
Young people aged 16 and over can also get their jab via the schools’ vaccination programme and at our pop-up/walk-in vaccination clinics – find out where these are located at selondonccg.nhs.uk/
A free and confidential helpline is also available for any south east London resident with questions about the vaccine.
