Autumn term now on sale
Summer term is still going, the holidays haven’t started yet, but we’re already thinking about Autumn term! Courses at the Conservatoire in Blackheath are now on sale, so make sure you have secured your spot if you’re returning to the same course(s) or if you have decided to try something new!
Remember, all you need to do to enrol is give them a call on 020 8852 0234.
ADULTS
Art, music and drama classes for adults are welcoming, encouraging environments for you to socialise with other adults and focus on an achievable goal, leaving the rest of the world behind for a couple of hours so you can express yourself in a creative way.
Many new courses are joining the autumn programme.
Explore shades and hues in the Colour Studio, get an Introduction to Oil Painting, enjoy Exploring Still Life or learn about Working in Watercolour.
Or if you’d rather make than paint, you can join Textiles, Craft & Embroidery Skills. Art & Wellness for Mums, exploring themes such as self, self-esteem, self-care, culture, compassion and connection offers the chance to join for half a term, a whole term or single drop-in sessions.
In the music department, they’re starting a fortnightly edition of The Big Piano Workshop for pianists to play in an informal setting and receive some feedback from an expert tutor.
Dr Bruno Bower will also be back for another introduction to music heritage, this time with Discovering Opera.
CHILDREN & YOUNG PEOPLE
It’s not just the adults who get exciting new courses this Autumn!
Young Woodwind Ensemble is the perfect follow on from Play! and a rare opportunity to play with other woodwind players in a fun, informal setting.
There’ll be fortnightly editions of The Teen Piano Workshop after a couple of successful holiday outings, and the first term-time run of Join A Band, which might just produce the next ‘insert-current-flavour-of-the-month-band-here’ before we know it! Blackheath Baroque Youth Ensemble may even produce the historical equivalent.
Due to popular demand, extra slots have been added for Drawing Skills and The Art Venture Club. And new for this term, Further Skills: GCSE and A-level Art will focus on Sculpture and life drawing, providing the perfect accompaniment.
Lastly, Blackheath Youth Theatre (16-19 yrs) will be returning after some time away, for young actors who want to explore their practice in more depth and hone their skills.
EARLY YEARS
Music and art classes for early years start at six months, with drama following at 18 months.
Exposure is the key in our early years’ programme – providing little ones with a variety of activities that lay the foundations for future exploration. Importantly, our entire early years curriculum is grounded in educational and music theory, setting children up for further development as they grow!
UPCOMING EVENTS
Every term the Conservatoire host two exhibitions to show off students’ work. They provide a fantastic opportunity for potential new students to discover more.
