Human remains found in Mitcham river by members of public
Human remains have been discovered in a river in Mitcham, police have said.
Officers were called to Rawnsley Avenue, where the remains were found in the River Wandle by members of the public.
A spokesman for the Met said: “Enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances and we await formal identification of the remains.
“At this early stage, we have not made any arrests.”
The road will remain shut until the crime scene is closed.
