Laurence Fox arrested in Stockwell over allegations of conspiring to damage ULEZ cameras

The controversial right-wing media personality Laurence Fox has reportedly been arrested in his home over allegations of conspiring to commit criminal damage to Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) cameras.

Mr Fox was believed to be filmed at his home in Stockwell earlier today with police officers searching the property.

The video was released on X, formerly known as Twitter, by Reclaim UK – a political party created by Mr Fox to run for Mayor of London in May 2021. IN that contest he received less than two per cent of the vote and lost his £10,000 deposit.

In the video, Mr Fox is seen sat on a sofa and pointing around his home telling viewers: “Look how many coppers there are around my house”.

A number of uniformed police officers are then seen wearing blue plastic gloves and holding clear plastic bags, which they appear to be putting items from Fox’s home into.

Holding a cigar, Fox says: “Look at them, coming to steal everything, take everything out of my house. That, ladies and gentleman, is the country that we live in.”

A spokesman for the Met confirmed that a man has been arrested for conspiring to commit criminal damage to ULEZ cameras.

He said: “On Wednesday, October 4, officers arrested a 45-year-old man on suspicion of conspiring to commit criminal damage to ULEZ cameras and encouraging or assisting offences to be committed.

“He was arrested in Stockwell and has been taken to a South London police station where he remains in custody.”

It comes as TV channel GB News said it has “ended its employment relationship” with Mr Fox following comments he made on the channel about female journalist Ava Evans.

Ofcom revealed Fox’s comments on Dan Wootton’s GB News show has broken the record as the most complained about moment this year.
